Beginning July

It feels like July is the beginning of the end; it's just something I feel.

7/4  BBQ at Robin's house, then fireworks in Foster City.  I still haven't gotten the camera settings just right, but here are a couple highlights.

 7/6  Eye appt, then Ramen with Buddy.  In the evening we met up with Sarah, Shafiq, and friends at Oakland's Art Murmur.  It was pretty fun; maybe we will try the Saturday Strolls, which apparently are not as crowded or chaotic.  

7/7  Watched the Amazing Spider-Man with Marc in SF, then had dim sum lunch and Blue Bottle with family.  We finally got Buddy's birthday wetsuit present, and headed back to Berkeley for our glass blowing class.  I felt a little rusty, but I am still loving glass blowing, and we even signed up for another class!

7/8  We cleared out some of our donation boxes and finally started our East Bay Hike Challenge at MLK Shoreline Park in Oakland.  The trail was very urban on one side, but then scenic bay on the other.  So odd. After our hike, we went to SF to help Patrick pack up their house.  We got Rosamunde afterwards, which was a nice treat.  

7/11  Starting pilates again!

7/12  The plan was to meet up with Patrick and Barbara for dinner, but we ended up getting dinner with just Barbara, as Patrick and Garmay had an emergency.  We stopped off at Patrick and Garmay's house after dinner and gelato just to say hi though.

7/14  Woke up SUPER early for a Hot Air Balloon Ride in Napa!  Nicola and Nick got this for us for our wedding present.  I have always wanted to do this, and it was amazing!  We ended up riding over Winters, CA instead of Napa due to heavy fog, but it was still exciting.  Of course that made us SUPER tired for the rest of the day, but it was totally worth it.

7/15  Picked up Darko and then Robin to go diving in Monterey.  Due to low vis and surge in Monterey, we tried diving Carmel and went to Copper Roof.  Unfortunately, Darko lost his weights, which resulted in a lot of looking for weights and redistribution of weights.  In the end we found the weights but was not the best dive ever.  Afterwards we had dinner with Lindsay and Matt.
