Sept. 5: Picked up Buddy from the airport and drove down to LA.
Sept. 6: Hung out with Emma and Kat in the morning, checked out the Tokidoki store, then got the first of many fish tacos in La Jolla. After a fairly easy drive over the border, we got into the hotel just in time for the "out-of-town" guest dinner.
Sept. 7: Had a delicious brunch at the hotel (a pretty good buffet!) and then walked around the wharf before the wedding. The wedding was really nice, and the reception at the hotel was fun. There were give aways for the dancers and a photobooth in the back. I liked the band's interaction with the crowd.
Sept. 8: Got up and went scuba diving. The drive across the city and over the state lands was pretty bumpy, but the dive was pretty cool. There aren't any sea otters down there, so it is urchin land! We saw sea urchin fishermen and lots of cool biota! After just barely making it to dinner at Ana's mom's house, we headed back to the hotel for nighttime jacuzzi time!
Sept. 9: Wandered around the town and bought souvenirs before heading across the border. I got Mexican bobble head animals, and Buddy got Mexican jumping beans, which he couldn't stop examining, since it was the first time he had seen them! Waiting for the border crossing took forever, although we were basically waved across the border... Went to Carlsbad to check into a hotel, had sushi at a local sushi place, and went to watch "Premium Rush."
Sept. 14: Actually went into the city AGAIN on a Friday night. We went to a Polaroid show at 111 Minna, checked out Nicole's office, had dinner at Bouche, went to Sugar Cafe, and stopped at Nicole's apt., all before tiring out by 11 pm.
Sept. 15: Went to Mtn View for PMT with Melissa, Greg, and Robin, and then headed to SF for Opera in the Ballpark. I really enjoyed Rigoletto! I want to see one more show at the War Memorial before the end of the opera season.
Sept. 16: Had brunch with the family at the Half Moon Bay Ritz Carlton. Then went to the Hayes Valley Street Fair.
